Description
You may be wondering why it’s called Hummingbird Cake. Well, this type of cake originates from the island of Jamaica and is named after the national bird — the hummingbird. Although it has its roots in Jamaica, it’s mainly popular in the United States where it’s been embraced as a part of Southern cooking. It was even selected as Southern Living magazine’s favorite recipe in 1990. Our hummingbird cake at CBD Cakes is made of moist carrot and pineapple sponge with layers of cream cheese icing inside and out. Don’t worry though, no hummingbirds were harmed in the making of this delicious cake!
